Mont Rochelle occupies arguably the best position in the South African town of Franschhoek with commanding views over the valley below. We not only grow the grapes on our property, but we harvest, make and bottle the wine all on site. If our guests are lucky enough to be staying during the harvest, which is anytime from January to March, they are more than welcome to take part. Naturally wine tasting is possible year-round, and the are a number of opportunities to do so.

Set against views of the picturesque Franschhoek Valley, only 1 hour by car from Cape Town, Mont Rochelle is a tranquil retreat featuring a gym, hot tub and outdoor swimming pool.

There are 2 restaurants at Mont Rochelle; guests can either dine al fresco at the informal Country Kitchen or enjoy gourmet meals at Miko, the main restaurant. The Mont Rochelle Hotel bar serves a variety light bites throughout the day, and offers a terrace where you can soak up the sun.

The hotel’s swimming pool is surrounded by a terrace with sun loungers and includes panoramic mountain views. Guests can also relax in the sauna, enjoy a soothing massage in one of the 2 dedicated treatment rooms or make use of the Hammam.
