Meelis Press Architects took on design of this modern hotel. The general architectural concept of the building was to complement the city skyline as a whole as well as to create an inseparable unity between the park area and the hotel complex. Adjacent to the property is Politsei Park, also known as Politseiaed. The park is the only intimate green area in the downtown, and is widely used due to its many facilities. In order to integrate the two areas into one organic whole, the park area has also been renovated at the same time as the hotel was being built. The arc-shaped building focuses the entire façade on the central axis of the park thus providing both the inside and the outside of the building eloquent relationships with the rare green area in the city center. The façade also acts as huge light screen that will start to shed light like a giant lantern on the fountain located in the center of the park. The arc reflects unexpected and exciting multiple reflections of both clouds and sunlight, like the ones we remember creating with mirrors in our childhood.
