The Posta Zirm Hotel was built in 1808 when Alta Badia was part of Austria. At the beginning it was a post office with a couple of rooms, a stable for the mail horses and a shop where the few inhabitants of this hostile area could buy everyday items. Franz Kostner, an Alpine guide and sergeant major of the Austrian military, bought it in 1908 coming back from a trip to Nepal. The first "tourists" of this area were his connections from the military: geologists and alpine guides. This is how it all started. By now, the Posta Zirm Hotel has survived 2 World Wars serving often as a military base for the fighters at the front which was close to Corvara. Now it is a Hotel with an amazing history and an atmosphere difficult to match. Since 1908 it is professionaly run by the Kostner Family with dedication and passion.

Situated in Corvara in Badia, 19 km from Pordoi Pass, Posta Zirm Hotel features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.
