The Zanzibari is located in Nungwi on the North Eastern tip of Zanzibar. Set above the beach on a low coral cliff with easy access to the sea, you are offered privacy, peace and tranquillity while taking in the stunning views of the Indian Ocean. Facilities include a swimming pool with stunning ocean views, sea front rock pools for cooling off, cable tv, seafront SPA for massages, body scrubs, manicures and pedicures and not forgetting our famous Dhow Restaurant & Bar.

We strive to offer our guests an oasis from the stresses and strains of daily life and unlike some of the larger Zanzibar hotels, we focus on providing an intimate, tranquil and private atmosphere with the added personal touch that will ease you into relaxation. To ensure we keep to our goal of providing privacy and exclusivity, The Zanzibari offers just 8 standard rooms in Bougainvillea House, 2 Fragipane Villas and the Bustani (Swahili for “garden”) Suite, all with en-suite, ensuring that the hotel never feels crowded.

Located on the edge of a small rocky cliff with stunning views over the Indian Ocean out to Mnemba Island, The Zanzibari is set in lush and tropical gardens.

Each room has a private balcony or terrace and all rooms overlook either the ocean or the gardens. Free WiFi is available in public areas.

Situated by the pool, The Mvuvi Bar offers lunches, snacks and light evening meals. The formal Dhow restaurant serves 5-course dinners, combining international and local flavours. Each 5-course dinner offers a choice of meat, fish and seafood.

Guests can relax at the spa, which offers a range of massages, beauty treatments, manicures and pedicures right by the Indian Ocean.

The Zanzibari is located 15 minutes’ walk from Nungwi fishing village and a 1.5 hour drive from Stone Town. Dar es Salaam can be reached within a 2-hour ferry trip or a 20-minute flight from Zanzibar Stone Town.
