The Romantik Seehotel Sonne is the oldest taverna in Switzerland. In 1641 the taverna was mentioned the first time by its name. For 350 years the hotel was in ownership of the family Guggenbühl. Later the hotel was purchased by a citizen of Küsnacht and since 2002 we manage the house.
The Sonne is loaded with history and as a guest you can feel original “Swissness”. We emphasize much on making our guests feel the special individuality. So in the bathrooms we have house made herb bath salt and always two interesting reading books in English and german in the rooms.
Unique are also our 80 paintings and sculptures from internationally known artists that are accessible for all guests. (A. Giacometti, Andy Warhol, Mario Comensoli and many more)
Situated directly on Lake Zurich and only 12 minutes by car or train from the centre, the 4-star superior Seehotel Sonne features a spa and fitness centre, cosy lounges, 2 restaurants and art work by Andy Warhol, Mario Comensol, Julian Schnabel and others.
All rooms have their individual character, some in maisonette style, some romantically located under the roof. All rooms are equipped with modern furniture and decorated in bright and warm colours.
There are 2 restaurants offering Mediterranean cuisine and modern interpretations of Swiss specialities. The stylish Turmbar is ideal for drinks or cocktails, and there is a garden restaurant by the lake during spring and summer.
