The Sawai Madhopur Lodge remained the residence of Maharaja of Jaipur during their hunting expeditions. Post independence the hunting was formally banned by the Government of India. However the Lodge remained
the favourite residence of the Royal family and their guests till 1980s, when the Royal family decided to convert their Lodge as the first Heritage hotel in Sawai Madhopur.
The Lodge has been painstakingly restored over several years and it stood witnessed to various transformations and glorious past.

A former royal hunting lodge, the luxurious Vivanta by Taj Sawai Madhopur offers a beautiful outdoor pool, pampering spa services and a modern gym. Less than 5 km from Ranthambore Railway Station, the hotel grounds spread over 12 acres of landscaped gardens.
